Project: A Collected Country Bedroom

Designed to feel collected rather than decorated, this primary bedroom layers warm woods, soft botanical prints, dusty rose upholstery, and timeless details to create a space that feels both romantic and relaxed. A mix of traditional pieces, subtle pattern, and lived-in texture gives the room a sense of history while keeping it fresh, comfortable, and inviting. 

The vision for this primary bedroom was to create a space that felt established rather than newly decorated - a room where each piece could have been collected slowly over time. Traditional forms, warm wood tones, soft color and understated pattern create a sense of history, while a lighter palette keeps the overall feeling relaxed and fresh.

A dusty rose upholstered bed became the natural focal point of the room, bringing warmth and a subtle romantic quality without feeling overly feminine. From there, the palette was kept intentionally muted with warm ivory, faded olive, natural wood and touches of aged brass. Rather than introducing bold contrast, the colors were chosen to gently relate to one another and create a restful, enveloping atmosphere.

One of the most important elements of the design was avoiding the feeling of a matching bedroom set. Antique-inspired wood ieces are mixed with the upholstered bed, marble-topped nighstands, classic lighting and softer textiles to give the room a more collected quality. The result feels as though pieces could have been inherited, discovered while traveling or added gradually over the years.

The finished bedroom feels warm, romantic and quietly traditional without becoming overly formal. It's a space designed to feel better with age - layered, comfortable and jsut a little imperfect.
