Mood board planning for this coastal cottage home. I want this space to have a welcoming, timeless and relaxed feel to it. There's something about this home that feels instantly comforting. It's not trendy, It's not overly styled. It simply feels lived in -- layered with natural textures, softened by light and grounded in warmth.

A true coastal cottage should feel like it's always been there. Books stacked casually, windows without heavy treatments, a kitchen that invited gathering, and a space that welcomes guests without feeling staged. The intention was never perfection -- it was comfort. 

For this conceptual project, I imagined a small seaside home designed for slow mornings, open windows, and sandy feet welcomed without hesitation. The palette leans warm and muted - inspired by weathered wood, linen slipcovers, sun-faded stone and the soft greens of coastal sage. The foundation being built on warm whites and creamy neutrals, layered with olive sage, soft sand, faded navy and natural oak.  Texture carries the design. Slipcovered sofas & chairs in relaxed linen, hand-thrown ceramics, woven rush accents, unlacquered brass that will age gracefully. Every element was chosen to feel better over time - not precious, but enduring.

The most beautiful coastal cottages feel collected over time. When designing your own space, prioritize materials that age gracefully and a color palette that feels connected to nature.
